My heart is so heavy right now. Richard Kipling you changed my life. I was a homesick baby who had never even studied journalism when I landed at the LA Times for my first reporting gig. How many nights did I end up sitting in your office pouring out all my woes? You were like a dad to me & so many others. I’m so glad I traveled last year for your 80th birthday & got to witness your sheer joy at seeing us all there to surprise you. Rest well my friend knowing that we will never forget the many lessons you imparted to us. Our love goes with you.
